Monitoring Vaccine Coverage
Objectives
SHIELD will explore the feasibility of collecting monitoring data on vaccination coverage among vulnerable groups, and pilot activities will be developed to support effective data collection. Systematic mapping will be undertaken to improve understanding and identify best practices for GDPR-compliant vaccination coverage monitoring, including the establishment of electronic vaccination registries and the linkage of vaccination data with cancer screening and cancer incidence data.
Activities will focus on the feasibility of the development of an EU core vaccination calendar, potential for the introduction of a joint EU vaccination card and setting up 2030 target for HPV vaccination of boys. These activities will involve relevant stakeholders at both EU and country levels, including the ECDC, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and other international organisations.
