SHIELD Joint Action officially launched 15-16 December 2025 – Copenhagen, Denmark
The JA SHIELD Joint Action officially launched on 15–16 December 2025 with a kick-off meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, bringing together 69 organisations from 25 European countries in a shared effort to prevent infection-related cancers and strengthen communicable disease control across Europe. During the two-day meeting, participants were introduced to the Joint Action’s strategic objectives, governance structure, and work packages. The discussions established a shared framework and vision for the years ahead and laid the foundation for effective collaboration among all consortium partners.
Through collaboration, evidence-based interventions and knowledge-sharing, the Joint Action aims to improve equitable access to vaccination, testing, and treatment for infections such as HPV, HBV, HCV, HIV, and TB that can lead to cancer.
